This report covers a fascinating daylight sighting of what was clearly a Flying Triangle craft, which appeared to have even directly interacted with people in close proximity to the witness. The same craft was apparently also seen soon afterwards by two police officers who reported their sighting, but this is the first time that this particular sighting has been documented.
Sighting Details
The incident took place on a Sunday in late summer 2000. Anthony (name changed for privacy reasons) was out with his family in his parents car. He was sitting on the back seat with his wife and child, his mother was in the passenger seat and his dad was driving. The family were on their way back home and were driving through Stafford. It was early evening, and the sun was still shining brightly. It had been a hot sunny day, and the weather was clear and still with very little cloud in the sky.
They were on Riverway in the centre of Stafford and pulled up to some lights at a crossroads with Weston Road. There were a few other cars around, but as it was a Sunday afternoon it was quite quiet.

Anthony noticed out of his peripheral vision to his left a glinting white light in the sky. He looked around in the direction of the light. It was only there for a second and then it was gone again. A moment later the light returned but appeared to be a little closer this time. Once again it went off. It appeared a third time and was even closer, but still quite a way off to the West of his location. This time the white light remained on. Then a second light came on below it and to the right. Next an orange/red coloured light appeared to the left of the lower right one. This looked less intensely bright than the other lights. Another white light appeared to the left of the red/orange light. At this moment, the space in between the lights was filled to reveal a black triangular shaped object. It was as if it had been invisible and had now “decloaked”. The object had a central white light on the top, a white light on the underside at each of the three corners and what looked like a larger red/orange coloured light in the centre of the underside. The body of the UFO was jet black in colour and was not reflecting sunlight. No other markings could be made out. It looked about 25 feet wide by 15 feet in height. It was roughly 150 feet in the air and Anthony believed it to be about half a mile from his location.

Anthony was immediately convinced he was looking at an extraterrestrial craft. He knew it was different to any conventional aircraft and he was astounded by how it had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Straight away he informed everyone else in the car about the craft and pointed it out to them. But for some reason none of them could see it, even though it was quite obvious against the clear sky. They were all staring blankly out of the windows, and looked almost like they had been switched off.
He thought about taking a photograph of the craft and realised his camera was in the glove box. He asked his mum to pass him the camera but at this moment something strange began to occur. It was like time was moving in slow motion. His mother refused to hand him the camera. Her voice sounded slurred like a slowed down tape. He leaned forward past her to grab the camera himself, and she raised her hands to block him. She seemed determined not to let him have the camera, and Anthony could not understand why. He was excited at what he was seeing but at the same time angry and frustrated that his mother would not let him have the camera.
This seemed to go on for 3-4 minutes, but Anthony feels that it was actually shorter than this. After all they were only at a red light waiting for it to go green. His dad is a careful driver, but as soon as the lights changed he stepped on the pedal and wheelspun away from the lights as fast as he could. He drove the car onward onto Corporation Street. Anthony shouted at him to stop the car and let him out so he could continue to watch the UFO, but he refused and continued driving at a fast speed. It was like he wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. A moment later the craft became obscured behind some buildings and Anthony did not see it again.
The family drove back to their home, and when they arrived Anthony furiously asked them why they had done what they did. Everyone else in the car had completely forgotten about the incident. The last thing they remembered was Anthony mentioning the craft and trying to point it out to them. It was like their memories of the experience had been removed. Anthony on the other hand could clearly remember everything which took place. His mother could not remember stopping him from grabbing the camera, and his dad would not give a proper reason for why he had not let Anthony out of the car.
The Police Sighting
A couple of weeks after the sighting, the family received a copy of the local Stafford news letter through the door. In it was an article which mentioned that two police officers had seen a black triangular shaped UFO hovering over the Staffordshire Police HQ at Baswich House, Weeping Cross, Stafford, 1.5 miles away from where Anthony’s sighting had occurred. The article stated that the police had contacted the Ministry Of Defence and that they had confirmed it had been detected on radar and had been a real object. Unfortunately I have been unable to locate this article yet online, and Anthony did not keep it.

It is great when other sightings of the same UFO take place as this tends to confirm it as a real solid object. With this case it is even more impressive in that the witnesses were police officers and the MOD actually confirmed the object was there. It was almost certainly the same craft that Anthony had seen, although he is not sure if this second incident took place on the same day as his own sighting or not.
Sighting Analysis
This is a very impressive sighting of what appears to have been a genuine Flying Triangle. This type of craft has been seen many times before all over the world, especially in the last couple of decades. They are sometimes massive in size and have been seen to perform incredible manoeuvres at extremely fast speeds.
The way in which Anthony saw the craft appear from thin air is very impressive. It tends to suggest that it had some kind of cloaking device, and was uncloaking for some reason, or perhaps it was even coming through from another dimension into our own. It was a clear sky so it could not have simply appeared from behind a cloud or from behind another object.
What took place next clearly seems to suggest that either the craft or its occupants were directly interacting with the other people in the car – Anthony’s parents, wife and child. It seems plausible that it could have been aware that it was being observed by Anthony, and that he intended to take a photograph of it. It then appeared to place everyone around Anthony under some kind of control. This was verified not only by what took place, but by the fact that they could not remember what had happened afterwards. This was a normal drive home in daylight hours, so I feel it is out of the question that they all dropped off to sleep or were hallucinating. The second sighting by the police also helps confirm that the object was real and in the area at the time.
Contactees have often reported that the ETs have the ability to shut people down temporarily, and also often remove memories of the event. Some believe that they have the ability to distort time in some way. All of these things seem to have been demonstrated throughout this incident, again pointing towards interaction between the craft and Anthony’s family. I do not feel there is currently any evidence to suggest that any further contact took place.
